We're back!
It's been awhile since we've posted, but best believe we are busy baking away. We have a lot of cake pictures to upload and new cakes about to be delivered. Here's to The Sweet Life!

Time to make the cupcakes!
The Sweet Life has a big day in the kitchen! We are making four different types of cupcakes & three different frostings. First is our very popular Banana Cream, banana mousse filled cupcake. Next is the classic carrot cake, then a simple, yet elegant white vanilla cupcake, and finally trying out a chocolate-caramel filled cupcake. Warm up the ovens and get a pot of coffee going! Here's to The Sweet Life!

747 cake
As a thank you to a special friend, we did a 747 cake for his Grandfather. He had retired from Boeing and loves airplanes. We added his wife and his names to the wings of the plane to pay tribute to her. It was a very sweet moment. <3
Underwater & Horse Birthday Cake
We had the pleasure of designing two cakes for a double birthday party for sisters. One wants to be a Marine Biologist and the other loves horses. Here are some pictures of what we came up for them. Both cakes are marble with vanilla buttercream and fondant. They cakes were a hit! It was also a Fear Factor themed party, hence the severed arm on the top of the cake. We later added red food coloring to it.

We won!!!
What a wonderful day in the world of cake! Our "Charleston Bloom" cupcake won Best Charleston Themed Cupcake today at Cupcake Camp Charleston. It was a huge hit! As soon as we displayed them, they were gone! It was a banana cream cupcake with a banana mousse filling, frosted with cream cheese buttercream. Decorated with a fondant/gumpaste magnolia & edible pearls. Wrapped in a cupcake wrapper that is very reminiscent of our wrought iron gates and fences. We made some wonderful new friends that we look forward to seeing next year. Here's to The Sweet Life!!!!

Cupcake Challenge 2010
Coming up on November 6th, Charleston is having it's first cupcake camp. The competition is for professionals and amateurs. There are 3 catagories to compete in: Most Unique Ingredients/Overall taste, Best Charleston Themed, and Best Decorated. I think I'm entering all 3. My idea is a vanilla/pineapple cupcake (pineapple to represent our Southern hospitality) with cream cheese buttercream with a cupcake wrapper that resembles our wrought iron gates & a gumpaste magnolia to top it off. Very Charleston! Wish me luck! Photos to come soon!
